ADVANCE FLYING ACADEMY
The United Kingdom offers a variety of airline cadet programs designed to train aspiring pilots. Below are some notable programs:
British Airways Speed bird Pilot Academy
British Airways' Speed bird Pilot Academy provides fully-funded flight training for selected candidates. Trainees are expected to complete their Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) exams, achieving an average score of 85% with no more than three resits, and a first-series pass at their Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR). Prospective candidates can apply before starting their training.
Virgin Atlantic Future Flyers Programme
Virgin Atlantic, in partnership with L3 Airline Academy, offers the Future Flyers Programme tailored to their A330 wide-body, long-haul operations. The program integrates Virgin Atlantic's standard operating procedures from the outset, with flight and simulator training aligned with the airline's operational requirements.
easyJet Generation easyJet Pilot Training Programme
easyJet's Generation easyJet Pilot Training Programme is designed for individuals with little to no flying experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the start of the course, possess a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths, Science, and English), and have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK, EU, or Switzerland.
TUI Airline MPL Cadet Programme
TUI's Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) Cadet Programme is a 19- month course suitable for those with minimal or no flying experience. Graduates join TUI as Cadet Pilots flying the Boeing 737. Applications for the 2025 intake have closed, but the program is expected to reopen in early 2026.
Titan Airways Sponsored Cadet Programme
Titan Airways offers a sponsored cadet programme in collaboration with VA Airline Training. This airline-funded initiative is notable for integrating three multi-pilot aircraft training elements into one seamless program.
L3Harris Airline Academy
L3 Harris Airline Academy provides pilot training with pathways to various airlines, including partnerships with British Airways, easyJet, and Wizz Air UK. The academy has training centers in the UK (Cranfield and Crawley) and Orlando, Florida, USA.
These programs offer structured pathways for aspiring pilots in the UK. Each has specific eligibility criteria and application processes, so it's essential to consult the respective official websites for the most current information.
