ADVANCE FLYING ACADEMY
The FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight hours to obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL) in the United States. However, most students typically require between 50 to 70 hours to be fully prepared for the check ride, depending on factors such as individual learning pace, weather conditions, and the frequency of lessons.
The 40 hour minimum includes:
- At least 20 hours of flight training with an instructor.
- At least 10 hours of solo flight time.
- Cross-country flights and night flying are also part of the training.
It's important to note that the average student usually needs more than the minimum due to the complexity of the skills being learned and the need for practice and experience.
