The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) offers a variety of flight training scholarships to support individuals pursuing their aviation goals. These scholarships are available to applicants over the age of 16 and can be applied toward flight training at any flight school in the United States or Canada that is not part of a university program.

Air Academy Alumni Scholarship: Supports initial flight training toward achieving solo flight or a private pilot certificate for individuals who have attended EAA's Air Academy and have not yet received their private pilot certificate.

John S. Bradbury Memorial Scholarship: Provides funding for flight training to young people involved in the Young Eagles program who are interested in pursuing flight.

Friends of Pete Bunce Flight Training Scholarship: Assists candidates seeking to complete a private pilot certificate or obtain an additional rating, with preference given to current and prior Wisconsin residents and those demonstrating financial need.

Adapt to Fly Scholarship: Aims to help individuals with disabilities explore aviation, awarding funds to those meeting the qualifications for a Class 3 Medical or Sport Pilot Certificate.

Cliff Chetwin Fund: Supports young people in becoming pilots, with a preference for female pilots, flight instructors, and Young Eagles participants.

Tex Edwards Scholarship: Provides funding for flight training for youth or adults pursuing their private pilot certificate.

Joey Ermel "Do Your Impeccable Best" Tailwheel Endorsement Scholarship: Assists individuals in obtaining a tailwheel endorsement, with preference given to prior or current Young Eagles, active EAA chapter volunteers, and applicants with at least 50 total flight hours.

Noah Favaregh Flight Training Scholarship: Supports students who have already soloed but need financial assistance to complete their training.

Harrison Ford Scholarship: Provides funding for Young Eagles pursuing flight training or careers in aviation, with preference for those demonstrating financial need.

Florence Gregory Coffy Endowment Fund: Helps fund deserving young women to begin or continue flight training.

Stephen (Ben) Haas Fund: Assists students in obtaining a private pilot certificate, with preference for Young Eagles participants.

Richard R. Harper Memorial Scholarship: Offers two scholarships—one for a Young Eagle and one for an Eagle Flight scholarship—both requiring demonstrated financial need and a GPA of 3.8 or greater.

Jason Kurt Lohr Aviation Scholarship: Provides funding for fixed-wing flight training to high school graduates aged 18-23 who have completed their first solo flight.

Tinker Murdock Family Fund: Supports flight training for Young Eagles or Next Step applicants seeking to complete a private pilot certificate, with internship opportunities for college students pursuing aviation degrees.

PenFed Credit Union Scholarship: Assists students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and significant extracurricular activities, especially those related to aviation, with additional preference for applicants with military backgrounds or affiliations.

WASP Endowment Fund: Provides funding for flight training not associated with EAA’s Aviation Foundation, with preference for Young Eagles, and supports internships for EAA’s Air Academy summer programs.

Elgin Wells, Jr. Starjammer CFI Scholarship: Supports flight training toward becoming a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), requiring applicants to have passed FAA written exams for CFI training and hold a valid pilot or medical certificate.
Application Process:
The application window for EAA's flight training scholarships typically opens in November and closes on March 1 each year. Applicants do not need to be current EAA members to apply; however, EAA members and active EAA chapter members are given priority during the selection process. Scholarship funds must be used by May 1 following the year of awarding, meaning recipients must complete their training before this date.
