ADVANCE FLYING ACADEMY
There is no maximum age limit for taking flying lessons, as long as you meet the medical requirements for a student pilot. However, the minimum age varies by country and type of license:
- Student Pilot Certificate (Solo Flight) United States (FAA): 16 years old Canada (Transport Canada): 14 years old for gliders, 16 years old for powered aircraft United Kingdom (CAA - EASA rules): 16 years old India (DGCA): 16 years old Australia (CASA): 15 years old European Union (EASA): 16 years old
You can start flight training before reaching solo age, but you won’t be able to fly alone until you meet the minimum requirement. If you’re older, as long as you can pass the required medical exam, you can take flying lessons at any age!
